As a blonde, Venus Williams is making the most of every moment of her lifetime.
While talking about her association with Schwarzkopf Professional for their Up Your Hair Game campaign, Williams, who is 44 years old, gave an exclusive interview to Us Weekly in which she discussed how she is loving her new honey blonde hair. In an interview with Us, she stated, "I just didn't think I could do it," indicating that she was uncertain about whether or not she could pull off the bright hue with her "red undertones."
It was with such enthusiasm that she said, "As soon as I saw it, I was thrilled." that was then that I had the impression, "Oh my god, it looks exactly like Serena." In an interview with Us, Venus Williams, who is Serena Williams' older sister, remarked on how strikingly similar the two of them seemed when they displayed the same hair color.
Igora Vibrance and Schwarzkopf's Blondme lightener were the products that celebrity hairdresser Brendnetta Ashley utilized in order to give Venus a new new look. "We used OSiS+ Elastic Light Hold Hairspray to style the blonde glamorous look," Ashley told Us, saying that she worked her magic on Venus' hair to create stylish curls. "The blonde glamorous look was really a huge success."
Venus has stated that she "discovered all the possibilities that you could push boundaries with hair even further" as a result of her work with Schwarzkopf Professional.
“I’m a person who doesn’t have boundaries, so I can’t believe I didn’t try that before,” she continued.
Venus’ hair transition marks the first time she’s dabbled with golden locks. “We both wanted to go with a look that she had never done before,” Ashley added. “It’s the perfect tone of blonde that complements her skin tone. Plus, warm blondes are very on trend.”
Venus agreed. “I love that whole self-expression,” the tennis pro stated. “Just being able to be creative and try different hairstyles and show off who you are, or even what kind of mood you’re in, or what kind of personality you have.”
Through the years, Venus has experimented with a lot of vibrant tones in her tresses. Last summer, she wore an icy pink ombré before returning to brunette.
Venus was never one to shy away from creative haircuts during tennis matches, as well. In 1997, she and Serena, 42, matched with braided beads on the court, a look that Venus has since worn again.
“It’s a style that young people who are African American wear, so it’s not necessarily a style you would always wear as an adult,” she told Us, reflecting on the famous look. You may alos read this: Sabrina Carpenter Celebrates 25th Birthday
“You could still wear braids and beads, but probably in a more sophisticated way.”
Her go-to sports hairstyles evolved through the years, from braids to slicked-back styles to buns. “I was really looking for something easy because before the match … your mind is elsewhere,” Venus revealed to Us.
While she’s been enjoying her natural brown hue recently, Venus confessed to Us that on Thursday, July 18, she’ll be reverting to her golden strands, revealing she had more “fun” as a blonde.
